Lunch with Leaders

Please consider joining us for our 3rd quarter Lunch with Leaders program. Lunch with Leaders is an opportunity to engage with successful Lee’s Summit community leaders and entrepreneurs. Come hear valuable insights and information about achieving success and gain clear direction on solving current problems and/or challenges from leaders in the community. Our featured Leader for this session is business and community leader as well as a longtime Chamber member, Lynn Hinkle.

11:30 a.m. Friday, September 13, Lee’s Summit Medical Center, Arbor Room, to hear Lynn’s story and learn some takeaways you can put into use with your own business and career. Attendees are limited to one per business. There is no cost to attend the Lunch with Leaders roundtable, however RSVPs are restricted to the first 20 members who register. This is a community event to help educate our senior community. We will host several vendors on Tuesday, September 17th from 10am - 2:00 pm that will be offering information for our Senior Community. Salsa y Salsa

Spend a day at Powell Gardens experiencing salsa making, salsa music, salsa dancing, and all things, peppers, tomatoes, onions, and cilantro. Enjoy live music performed by Pablo Sanhueza & KC Latin Jazz Orchestra who will feature live salsa dancing and free salsa dancing tips. All the festivities take place in the Heartland Harvest Garden under the eaves of the Missouri Barn, and in the education building —rain or shine. Food, beer, and a Mean Mule Distilling agave cocktail, and product vendors selling salsa-related items will be on-site. Check in with a gardener to learn more about growing salsa ingredients and other spicy items at home. Be sure to stroll through the outdoor garden display Through the Looking Glass on view in the gardens surrounding the Visitor Center. All festivities are Free with Festival admission!

Lee's Summity Symphony: Intergalactic Reunion
Join the Lee’s Summit Symphony for their season opener where they will invite former Lee’s Summit R-7 students to “return to the mothership” and perform with the orchestra. Mothership by Mason Bates will be music to your ears and eyes with a corresponding video to transport you to another world. You’ll also hear these classic pieces with a space theme: The Planets: Mars & Jupiter by Gustav Holst, Also Sprach Zarathustra (the theme to 2001: A Space Odyssey) by Richard Strauss, Symphony #48 (Vision of Andromeda) Finale by Alan Hovhaness, and Flying Theme from E.T. by John Williams, and more. Our co-conductors, Russ Berlin and Kirt Mosier, said this performance promises to be out of this world!
